(Just googled Hout Bay: GORGEOUS!) I pick up a rock every time I go for a walk, but they're mostly just local river rock--pretty, but not striking. Altogether, though, they're beginning to make a nice little cairn/"art" work.Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08297253093260251145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4534450478022541384.post-23933183764270695802010-08-25T15:13:10.394-06:002010-08-25T15:13:10.394-06:00So you and I both love rocks. Mountains and sea and a handful of rock to remember that walk and view.Diana Studerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12286066768376135880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4534450478022541384.post-36349585846110185672010-08-24T15:25:13.053-06:002010-08-24T15:25:13.053-06:00What a beautiful place for a cabin! My grandparents used to live up near Evergreen, and we'd collect mica and quartz, too. (The only place I ever found pyrite was in tourist gift shops.) :)Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08297253093260251145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4534450478022541384.post-17590140210274707402010-08-23T23:56:30.454-06:002010-08-23T23:56:30.454-06:00Yes, they are. Mica was awesome because of the layers, quartz for the color, and pyrite had the sheen of gold without the high price tag. And I've had two houses with rock gardens.klbrowserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01969885665210889638noreply@blogger.com
